Last chance to make a Charitable Donation for 2016!
In 2016 the FHBC Foundation distributed grants to financially support several members of the field hockey community. These grants helped grassroots players pay local club and league fees, regional and provincial athletes pay program fees, post-secondary athletes continue their field hockey participation, and coaches and officials pursue professional development and opportunities.

Please help us make an even bigger impact in 2017 by donating today! All donations or gifts of $25 or more are eligible to receive a tax deductible charitable donation receipt.

Upgrades Required for expiring Umpire Ratings
For any umpire whose rating will expire in December 2016, re-certification field assessments are due to the Field Hockey BC office before the end of the year. Umpires with 2016 rating expiries will be removed from the database in January, and be required to re-enter the pathway by taking a course prior to being assessed. Check the most updated version of the Umpire Database online, and send any completed field assessments to [email protected].
Men's Junior World - Canada finishes 16th
The 2016 Men's Junior World Cup has officially wrapped up. Congratulations to the Host Nation, India, for winning the World Cup trophy.

Canada played hard at the tournament and had some close games between many teams including, India, South Africa, Korea and Egypt. Although the results weren't exactly what they were hoping for, Canada were underdogs heading into the tournament, as they were one of the youngest teams there. Ultimately, it was a great learning experience for all of these athletes, some of whom will now try to transition into the Senior Program. Many will also be eligible for the next Junior World Cup in 4 years time.

For full tournament results, click here. For more information about Team Canada, visit Field Hockey Canada's website.
