Christmas Cheer in the Aula
From the class of 2017: Emily Barker, Jane Hutchings, Ben Dornan, Grace Moffatt and Kathleen Mason

Past and current teachers and alumni enjoyed chatting and sharing a drink

Angela Fowler '06 and Claire Jenkins '09 enjoyed having a look around the halls of their Alma Mater

Another successful Alumni Christmas Social was held on Thursday, December 21, in the Aula Maxima. Old friends caught up, new friends were made and prizes were won - fun was had by all. We are proud of our alumni and school community for raising $700 to go directly to The Gathering Place - this will provide 2 days of hot breakfast for 200 people and 2 Saturday brunches for 200 people. Christmas is a difficult time for many of their clients, and we were happy to be able to help in a small way.

Thank you to teachers Kathy Coffin and Eileen Pardy, Principal Annette Mallay and alumni parent Helen Hayward for bartending. Thank you to alumni parents Anne McDonald and Michael Bautista for making a donation to help cover the cost of the evening and for helping out for the night.

From the Class of 2015: Hanna Brennan, Laura O'Keefe and Michael Billard.

We had a great turnout!

  • This month, the St. Bon's Music Department has put off not one, but three successful Christmas concerts! Our Senior Christmas Concert, held Tuesday, December 5, featured our Grades 7-12 Band and Choir students led by Band Director Ms. Vincenza Etchegary and Choral Director Ms. Susan Quinn. On Wednesday, December 6, our Beginning Band and Concert Band performed, again under the direction of Ms. Vincenza Etchegary. Our Grade 6 students wrote two plays for the same evening, and the productions were supported by the Elementary Choir. The final concert was held on Thursday, December 14 and featured our Primary Choir and two plays orchestrated by our Grade 3 classes. Thank you to Choral Director Ms. Brenda Gatherall for running both the Elementary and Primary Christmas Concerts.

Staying Involved: Alumni at St. Bon's
From left: Ryan Hayward '04, Maria Conkey '04, Tim Brennan '11 and Samantha Etchegary '11.
The above photo was taken in 2004 at a celebration for the Wind Ensemble after they won the Kiwanis Festival Instrumental Group Rose Bowl. Interestingly, all of the alumni pictured have stayed connected to St. Bon's.

Mr. Ryan Hayward '04 has been the IT Coordinator at St. Bon's since 2008. Before moving to Toronto to teach at St. Michael's Choir School, Ms. Maria Conkey '04 was the Grades 7-12 Choral Director at St. Bon's for several years. Mr. Tim Brennan '11, who earned a Masters of Music from University of Florida, continues to return to St. Bon's each year to act as accompanist for our Primary and Elementary choirs in the Kiwanis Music Festival, as well as for the Primary and Elementary Christmas musicals. Though she was away earning a Masters Degree in Saxophone Performance, Ms. Samantha Etchegary '11 continued to return to the school to share her musical talents - she played at the St. Bon's Music Christmas Coffee House last year and annually plays in the St. Bon's Commencement Band each June.

Thank you to these amazing alumni who continue to support their alma mater, and all others who support us - whether it be through music, athletics, sharing their expertise or various other ways. If you would like to get more involved as an alumni of the school, contact Jessica Whalen '04 at or
(709) 726-0024 Ext. 228.
