News, Current Events, & Resources

We hope that you've noticed our increase in activity on Facebook, but just in case you've not been following us, here are a few interesting articles posted recently:

REMINDER:

With the holiday season often come new appliances and electronics. Remember to recycle your old appliances by donating to the Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence (call first 757-787-1329) or at your local Convenience Center. Old electronics can only be recycled at the Fishers Corner (Parksley) Convenience Center - see image below & list of acceptable items to the right.

SPOT LIGHT:

Waste Watchers' Community Beautification Grant from Keep Virginia Beautiful planted 31 plants (mostly natives) near the new Saxis pavilion in November! As the Town attracts new visitors, it is important to maintain an aesthetic that is pleasing, both to make peoples' experience and impression of the Town better and to encourage better treatment of public areas by visitors and locals alike! Community beautification projects improve community pride and discourage littering!

Next Clean Up Day is TBD. The December 2nd event has been cancelled as VDOT just picked up the planned road segment!

Reminder:  2017 Annual Dues are requested . They are only $10 per member, but please feel free to donate more! If your dues are paid and you volunteer for a clean up or education event, you'll get a free Waste Watchers t-shirt!

We are a registered not-for-profit entity, so donations are tax deductible! This can be done by credit card or PayPal with the link below. Checks can also be mailed to President Marilyn Ailes at PO Box 191 Onancock, VA 23417.
