HOLIDAY GREETINGS FROM SUE AND WARD
Dear Friends,
"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." Helen Keller
Whether we deck the halls or light the candles, we are reminded that the visible holiday symbols are but an expression of that which embodies the joys of the holiday season. Regardless of the holiday one might celebrate, there is a common theme that permeates this time of year. It is felt in the workplace, in the homes of friends and family and in our home here on Western Avenue. A smile, a gift, laughter, and holiday food all come together to enhance the lives of those we serve. To rekindle a memory or help to make a new one are gifts that our team graciously and joyfully gives to those entrusted to our care. While being witness to these moments, we cannot help but agree with Helen Keller - "they must be felt with the heart."
Please know that our work is a gift of love and respect. We are grateful to have this opportunity to celebrate the holiday season with each and every member of our family. From our home to yours, we send you holiday joy and the warmth of the season.

A Gift From You Gives Our Residents A Place They Call Home
As we enter this season of joy, sharing the warmth and love of family and friends, please think about the residents of the Home and how you can help them live their lives to the fullest. A gift from you will help sustain the Home for years to come. Here are some ways that you can show your support:
1. You can make a contribution by clicking on the Donate Now button in this newsletter and you will be taken directly to the Home's website donation page. Please consider joining our Monthly Sustainer Program details of which can be found on the website donation page.
2. When you shop for the holidays, please be sure to shop at
https://smile.amazon.com and the AmazonSmileFoundation will donate 5% of your total eligible purchase price to the Home; all you have to do is select the Abraham and Laura Lisner Home (AKA Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home) as the charitable organization you wish to receive donations.
3. The Home is a member of United Way of the National Capital Area #5008, and the Combined Federal Campaign #25024.
4. We invite you to explore the option of
planned giving through a charitable bequest that you might establish in the future.
