Donna Marie Harris, of Long & Foster, REALTORS®, received RVAR's REALTOR® of the Year award at RVAR's December 8th Installation and Awards Breakfast.
Harris has been a REALTOR® since 2006, serving in many volunteer capacities for RVAR. She served as RVAR's President in 2016 and most recently chaired the Virginia REALTORS® Convention held in Roanoke this fall.
The REALTOR® of the Year award is RVAR's highest honor, recognizing a local REALTOR® who demonstrates outstanding REALTOR® spirit, business accomplishments and community involvement.

Kelli Eagle of Park Place Realty received RVAR's REALTOR® Community Service Award at RVAR's December 8th Installation and Awards Breakfast.
Eagle was recognized for her many volunteer efforts on behalf of Happy Healthy Cooks, an organization that motivates kids to eat foods that protect their health. In addition to recognizing Eagle, RVAR made a $1,000 contribution to Happy Healthy Cooks in her honor.
The REALTOR® Community Service Award recognizes a local REALTOR® who gives of his or her time to an organization that improves the quality of life in the greater Roanoke Valley.

Hash Installed as RVAR President
Connie Hash of MKB, REALTORS® was installed as RVAR's President on December 8th at RVAR's Installation and Awards Breakfast. Also installed were
Neil Conner of The Real Estate Group as President-elect and
Walter Grewe of Long & Foster, REALTORS® as Vice President.
Four Directors were also installed:
Barry Bridges of Weichert, REALTORS® Bridges & Co.;
Jerry Cohen of Park Place Realty;

Six Firms Win Distinguished Service Awards
Each year, RVAR recognizes those firms whose agents have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the real estate profession by attending RVAR educational classes, serving on RVAR/VAR/NAR Committees, earning professional designations, contributing to RPAC and attending RVAR/VAR/NAR events. The Distinguished Service Awards were presented to the following firms at the December 8th RVAR Installation and Awards Breakfast:

2018 Dues Reminder
To date, 730 members have already paid their 2018 dues (which includes dues to RVAR, VR and NAR.) The final date to pay 2018 dues is
Friday, January 12th.
Simply go to
www.RVAR.com and click on User Login (upper right hand corner). Follow the instructions to log in to access and pay your dues bill online.
Dues bills were NOT mailed to offices this year. However, any member may contact
Susan Edwards to request a dues bill via email or mail.
Should membership be terminated for non-payment of dues, payment of the annual dues plus a reinstatement fee of $150 shall be required to reinstate membership in RVAR, provided reinstatement is made within 60 days following termination. After that, application as a new member is required to restore membership in the Association.

Food Drive Produces Best Results in Over a Decade
The Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS® wants to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who assisted in making our Food Drive for the Boys and Girls Club of SW Virginia the best in over a decade. We could not have done it without you and your efforts will make the holiday season much brighter for many children and their families in the Roanoke Valley.
A special Thank You goes to the Community Service Committee, led by Tessa Rider, for their efforts in collecting and the delivering of all the food.

Join us for a night of fun and fast paced hockey with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on
Friday, February 2nd.
Tickets are just $10 for adults and $8 for children
(under 12) and includes admission and a meal voucher to be used at the concession area.

These are pre-purchase only tickets and
must be ordered by 3:00PM Monday, January 29th. Tickets can be picked up at the "Will Call" window on game day.
