This Holiday Season, Light the Way for Twin Cities Youth

With your support this Holiday Season, we can Light the Way for thousands of youth across the Twin Cities. We can shine a light on the potential that lies within all who attend an area Boys & Girls Club and create the conditions necessary for them to thrive.

A generous donor who recognizes the importance of our programming has agreed to match all donations to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities—dollar for dollar—up to $50,000 before December 31, 2018. Your matched gift will ensure that we can continue to provide essential guidance and tools to help our young people to address their individual challenges.

Skate the Star at Mall of America

We are excited to announce a new partnership with the Mall of America: SKATE THE STAR – a custom-built ice rink located at the North entrance of MOA. The 12,000 square-foot ice rink will open to the public on Saturday, December 8 and will be open through January 27. Admission is free, and skate rentals will be available for $5 with 100 percent of skate rental proceeds going directly to the Boys & Girls Club of the Twin Cities.

East Side Teens Participate in Career Fair

On November 3, teens from our East Side Club Right Track program participated in the State of Minnesota and City of St. Paul Career Fair at the St. Paul RiverCentre. In addition to learning about current job openings and networking with local business leaders, Club members assisted with registration and served as interpreters.
Club Member and Team Take Home State Football Championship

Kevvan Anderson, a member of our Mt. Airy Club, was on the field at U.S. Bank Stadium when the SMB Wolfpack took home the MN State 4A Championship on Friday, November 23. The 44-18 game against Willmar was SMB's first state football championship.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Kids Can Give Holiday Gift Drive

Every December, Club members are asked to give a small donation that supports a youth-driven celebration at each Club. In return, they are able to "shop" for gifts for their families at the Kids Can Give stores set up in each of the Clubs. Gifts are wrapped on-site and sent home with the kids just in time for the holidays. This experience teaches Club members the importance of giving back and provides meaningful memories for all involved.

In order to make this event possible, we need to collect gifts for family members of all ages, from toddler to adult. Our Kids Can Give gift drive runs now through December 14. Please consider donating to the gift drive and helping a child fulfill his or her holiday wish! You can collect gifts at your place of business or drop off a gift at one of the many collection boxes located at businesses across the Twin Cities. Financial donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase additional gifts and wrapping paper. Please contact Stephanie Siegel at ssiegel@bgc-tc.org or 651-200-4105 for more information about donating or volunteering!
