Even in the midst of joy, there is sorrow. My in-laws both went to be with Jesus just before Thanksgiving, four days apart. Paul wrote about heaven so we would
not grieve like people who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). We do have hope, indeed, and we know we will see them again...but death "stinketh," as I remember my old KJV John 11:39 verse says about Lazarus' death. Death brings a time to grieve. Separation is painful, and yet we know we will meet again all those who believe and follow Jesus. Eternal life gives us hope when the ugliness of death gets too close for comfort. It's then we get comfort from Jesus. Praise God for eternal life, for no pain, sorrow or death because of and through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Enjoy the Christmas season. Celebrate Jesus. Never get tired of Christmas.
