Galion & Crestline Hosted "Shop Small" Events on Small Business Saturday - Saturday, November 24th

The Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with American Express, signed up to be a Neighborhood Champion again in 2018 to encourage shoppers to visit the business districts and support local businesses by “shopping small” on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018. Neighborhood Champions are business associations, local chambers of commerce, and other community organizations who are willing to commit to organizing events and activities to rally their community members for Small Business Saturday and celebrate the small, locally-owned businesses in their communities.

The Chamber had tents set up outside of their office on Harding Way West in Galion and the United Bank on North Seltzer Street in Crestline from 9am to noon on Saturday the 24th to hand out free shopping bags and other Small Business Saturday promotional items. A flyer that included all participating businesses, with their hours, location and sales items was handed out to all shoppers that day.

By stopping at each participating business, shoppers had a chance to enter a raffle to earn a gift card, the more businesses visited, the more chances a shopper of winning. Our Galion winner was Kim Winkle and our Crestline winner was Kim Metzger.

“Consumers play a key role in helping these small businesses thrive,” says Joe Kleinknecht, President/ CEO of the Chamber. “By shopping or dining locally on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year, we can show our support for all the small businesses in Galion and Crestline and reinvest our dollars into the communities we call home.”
