UCI Anteater Family Weekend

February 8-9, 2019
Anteater Family Weekend offers you and your family the opportunity to come back to campus and share the UCI experience with your Anteater! Together, you will be able to get a snapshot into the life of your student and see how the university continues to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and public service.

Together, you will be able to take classes, meet with professors and deans, attend "Zotpalooza", take a photo with Peter the Anteater and enjoy refreshments and grub at one of the many social events!

Parents, guardians and other family members of current UCI students are welcome to attend!

Move over Cyber Monday - Meal Plan Monday is here
 
Give a gift to your student and yourself with a bonus of up to 30 free meals and drinks on Anteater Meal Plans added starting this Monday, December 3 through Sunday, December 16. 
 
Anteater Meal Plans available from ucidining.com or the Dining office (G318 Student Center) roll over between quarters, so any unused meals and FlexDine will transfer from Fall to Winter and Spring. Anteater Meal Plans are available to anyone, including students living off-campus. 
 
UCI first in the UC system to make plans for Student Success Building

Projected to open in fall 2022, the Student Success Building is designed to enhance programs that contribute to student success - everything from academic counseling to mental health services to support for students with disabilities - whose physical space has not kept pace with growth of the student body.

UCI always has provided high-quality wellness, health and counseling services to its student body, and increased demand has necessitated more space for them. In the last decade alone, enrollment has grown about 25 percent, to more than 35,000 students. Putting such services under one roof will improve opportunities for collaboration and coordination, UCI officials said.

Winter break free holiday shuttle

UCI Transportation and Distribution Services is offering complimentary transport to the Irvine Transportation Center for UCI staff and students only. The shuttle will depart from the flagpoles by Aldrich Hall and drop you off at the Irvine Transportation Center. Make sure that you schedule your shuttle so that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your train.

Reservation deadline: Wednesday, December 12 at noon
Pathways to Success:
Website enhancements to serve students

The Division of Career Pathways presents an enhanced website to address the needs of students including:
  • Discover-Connect-Succeed - This checklist presents milestones related to every stage of career planning. It is not a linear checklist - rather - it's meant for students to explore and learn more about the tools available for where they currently are & where they plan to go.
  • UCI Career Resources - In this central place students can find career-related resources in their academic school as well as other offices throughout UCI including links to field study/academic internships, mentoring programs, academic courses, leadership positions and more.
  • Internship Pathways  - Organized resources for exploring, applying for and maximizing internships.
The Roadmap: a fun tool for career exploration
One of the hardest questions students face is, "What do you want to do with your life?" The Division of Career Pathways has partnered with Roadtrip Nation to offer a simple assessment free of charge to the UCI community.
 
Students can creatively explore career options based on their interests with The Roadmap. Videos and biographies of a diverse array of professionals are curated based on their interests including:
  • Astrobiologist with NASA
  • Senior Curator and Rock Journalist with the Experience Music Project
  • Chief People Officer with GoDaddy
  • Food Scientist with Jelly Belly Candy
  • Park Supervisor for Mount Rushmore
