December 2018 ~ Issue 22
Dear Evergreen Elementary Families,

Happy December! November was a bit of a challenging month for us with school being closed a few days due to the air quality. Unfortunately, this is a new situation for us in California, and we appreciate you bearing with us regarding school being closed. I'm happy to report that all of Evergreen's air filters were changed last week and we are crossing our fingers for clean air for the rest of the 2018-2019 school year.

We are still looking for a parent volunteer to run our Book Fair in April 2019. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Hansen at
Construction Update

Our construction plans for the a new parking lot behind the G Wing and the new Multi Use Building in the existing parking lot area have been put on hold. Due to the district’s constraints in selling the voter approved bonds, we won’t have the necessary funding available until next year. This means these projects are now scheduled to begin in early 2020. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hansen at  or stop by the Evergreen office.
Evergreen Restorative Practices Parent Implementation Team
We are looking for Evergreen family members to serve on our Restorative Practices Parent Implementation Team. Since we are in our second year of implementing Restorative Practices at Evergreen, we would like to bring in a team of parents to further our efforts in this area.

In our end of the year survey last year, a handful of parents expressed interest in being a part of this team in the future. Mrs. Hansen will be reaching out to those parents in January, but we welcome any parents that would like to be involved. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, February 7 at 3:15pm, so please mark your calendar!

If you would like more information about Restorative Practices, or the Parent Implementation Team, please contact Mrs. Hansen at or stop by the Evergreen office.
CRPUSD Job Postings

CRPUSD has adopted a new student information system for the 2018-2019 school year, called PowerSchool. We are no longer utilizing the Quick Schools student information system. Parents should have received an email from PowerSchool with logon information. Please contact Ms. Rochelle at if you did not receive a logon email.

Communicating effectively with families on a regular basis is very important to me. I will utilize several methods to communicate with families: Facebook, the Evergreen Elementary website, Parent Messaging through PowerSchool, and our Evergreen Express newsletter. Here is how to access all of that information:

Facebook: This is a closed group for Evergreen families and staff only.

Information emailed to parents - Contact Ms. Rochelle at if you did not receive a logon email

Evergreen Express Newsletter: The Evergreen Express will be sent on a monthly basis.

Happy Holidays Team Evergreen!

We are excited to announce that the Holiday Shop will be coming back this year for all our students to have the opportunity to buy gifts for their family and friends, even on a small budget. Unlike most recent years, this year we will be holding the holiday shop after school for three days only. We wanted to make it easier for our children to be able to shop without missing important class time, and also so it would be easier for our volunteers. The Holiday Shop will be held on Monday December 17 from 3-7pm, Tuesday December 18 from 12-7pm, and Wednesday December 19 from 3-7pm in the PTA Room (Room M1).

We will be holding our PTA Association Meeting on Thursday, December 6th at 6:30pm with child care and dinner provided. We hope that this holiday season brings you lots of joy and all the happiness for the new year.
