Meet our new Advocate Supervisors Kati and Joseph
Kati joined the Advocacy Team in the beginning of November. She recently graduated from Cal State LA with her Master’s in Social Work. She brings a wealth of knowledge about clinical social work in the school setting as well as grant writing experience at Hillside’s Youth Moving On program. Kati also brings experience working with TAY youth who were previously involved in the system and youth who are homeless. Kati has jumped right in and has started her work with CASAs and is soon to be a CASA Pre-Service training graduate!
Joseph joined the Advocacy Team mid-November. He has been fully immersed in shadowing CASAs in court and participating in program specific training. He will be getting matched with his first set of CASAs later in the month. Joseph spent 6 years in the Restorative Justice community as a Case Manager and Coordinator. He has done a lot of volunteer projects abroad in the following places: France, Morocco, Romania, India, Peru, South Africa, Israel and Palestine. Joseph holds a Master’s of Arts in Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding with a restorative justice focus and a Master’s of Arts in International Relations.
