is presenting our 1st student highlight of this school year. This is Abigail Nicole Harris, daughter of Mrs. Odessa Harris. Abi is a sophomore at South Cobb High School with a 3.0 GPA. Abi aspires to enroll in college in the fall of 2022 and major in Film and Production.
Abi has been a participant of the Mable House Theater Project for many years. Her first performance was "School House Rock". She had a solo performance during the interjection song. Her next performance was in "Mulan", she played a Hun warrior and a dress maker.
After that, she performed in "Little Shop of Horrors." She placed Lacey. Next, she performed in "Singing in the Rain." She was part of the ensemble. Her next performance was an ensemble member in "Momma Mia." Next, she played Popa Ge in "Once on this Island." Her most recent performances she played Dr. Ehrin, the School Counselor", "The High School Principal", " A Parent, part of "Savannah's girl group, and a high school student in "Freaky Friday". Way to Go Abi!!

Register now for Cobb Police Department's inaugural Citizens Safety Academy
Cobb County Police Department staff is hosting a one-day safety academy at the Cobb County Safety Village on Saturday, Dec. 14, to cover some important topics our community frequently has questions about. There will be two sessions: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
Each session will have three classes that cover:
Active Shooter Preparedness
Holiday Safety
Neighborhood Safety Open Forum Q&A
Community Affairs Overview
Attendees of each session will be split into three groups which will rotate through each of the classes. Every group will visit each class and each session will cover the same three classes.

Register now for Cobb's Free Notary Training
A free notary training session will be held 9:30-11 a.m., Monday,
Dec. 16, in the jury assembly room of the Cobb County Superior Courthouse, 70 Haynes St., Marietta. This training is highly recommended for anyone who is currently a notary public in Georgia or anyone who would like to become one. The training is being hosted by Cobb County Superior Court Clerk Rebecca Keaton and the Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority.

It will increase the personal allowance allotted for
people in nursing homes to purchase personal hygiene and toiletry items to $70 dollars a month.
They will now have more money for their personal needs
It was attached to House Bill 206 adopted and signed by the governor.
The last increase was about 10 years ago!
