Province, Rotary Club deny responsibility for 12-year-old's drowning death after parents sue

The B.C. government has denied any responsibility for the drowning death of a 12-year-old girl in a swimming lake in the province's northeast, saying it didn't realize the suctioned drainpipe that dragged the girl underwater was easy for children to reach. Read it.

San Diego Police honor boy who saved brother from drowning in pool

A 10-year-old boy was honored today by the San Diego Police Department for saving his brother from drowning in a pool. Ulises Frausto was in the pool with his 7-year-old brother when the accident happened, according to the police department's Facebook post. Read it.

High School Swimmer in Oregon Drowns After Swim Practice

A teenager was found dead in a swimming pool after a swim practice in Hillsboro, police said Thursday. Nabila Maazouz, 14, was pronounced dead late Wednesday after being discovered in the pool at Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center, where her swim team had just finished a practice, said Sgt.
