A Message from our Executive Director, Carol Bartlett

Happy Holidays!

It seems like every year the holidays are upon us before we know it. Although it can be a busy time I hope that everyone can create some time to slow down and enjoy!
As you can see, we have started our transition to a new newsletter format. The newsletter committee has been working hard with the goal to include the information you need in a clear and concise format. We would appreciate any feedback as we continue to work on improving communication to our members.
I would like to thank the membership committee for hosting a new member orientation on November 20th – we had 22 new GRAPE members attend and learn how to get the most out of their GRAPE membership! Thank you to the board/committee chairs for also attending and sharing information. We look forward to hosting more sessions like this in 2020.
A few reminders for December - December 3rd is ROC the Day, organized by the United Way of Rochester. GRAPE is fortunate to be one of the many not-for-profit organizations listed for gift giving. December 4th is the next Eldercare Fair at Highland Hospital, December 11th is the holiday breakfast at St. John’s Brickstone (registration appreciated for this breakfast) and December 13 th the Holiday Gifts for Seniors Committee will pack 300 gift bags to be delivered to seniors in need.  Of course most of our committees will continue to meet this month as well!
As I close out my fifth month as the Executive Director I want to thank the board, committees and all of the members for your support. May the peace and joy of the holidays be with you today and throughout the New Year.

There is still time to donate coats for seniors!
Once again GRAPE is proud to partner with Monroe County's Coats for Seniors program. Please consider donating a coat for a senior in need before the cold weather begins.

Drop off locations can be found by clicking this link .

Thank you to those who have already donated over 25 coats this year!
Holiday Gifts for Seniors
The Holiday Gifts for Seniors Committee has been working hard and this year will deliver a record 300 gift bags to seniors in need. The bags will include some of the necessities such as socks, shampoo, soap, and deodorant.... as well as some treats. We had some very generous donors who made this possible. If you are interested in helping fill the bags on December 13th, let the GRAPE office know and we will give you the details.
Don't forget to ROC the Day is December 3rd!
ROC the Day is a 24-hour, online event that gives people in our
community an opportunity to support all of the not-for-profit
organizations doing great work in the nine-county Greater
Rochester area….including GRAPE! People will visit this link , a
secure online giving platform, to make a gift. All ROC the Day gifts will help local people and organizations.

Will you be a ROCstar for GRAPE?
