Building Community Capacity for Conflict Resolution
The Vital Village
Social Justice Mediation Program
(SJMP) aims to build the capacity of our neighborhood by training community members in conflict resolution skills that can be used at home, in the workplace, in schools, and beyond.
In addition to offering the
6th Social Justice Mediation Institute
(SJMI 1.0), we hosted SJMI 2.0:
Group Facilitation Training for community members to strengthen their skills in navigating conflicts in group settings. From various backgrounds and neighborhoods in Boston, 20 completed SJMI 1.0 and 15 completed SJMI 2.0. Starting in December, this 2019 cohort will be kicking off their 6-month service-learning pathways to integrate their learning in their everyday lives or by serving as a volunteer mediator.
Are you a school or organization interested in being a partner site with SJMP? SJMP volunteers can support
mediations
,
group facilitations
, and
workshops
