PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings NTMCA Members!

I hope everyone had a blessed and safe Thanksgiving. I’m stuffed….. get it? LOL.

The Board is continually monitoring the COVID situation and adjusting meeting considerations when it comes to meeting in person or online. While we want to meet in person when we can, we must do what is best for the safety of our membership. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as the Board plans our meetings and programs during this pandemic.
NTMCA VIRTUAL
HOLIDAY CELEBRATION!

As previously shared last month with the increasing COVID numbers cities and City Councils across the area are choosing to limit access to public buildings for gatherings to help mitigate the spread of the virus. In response, the Board sent out a survey to ask our membership if they would like to have our virtual holiday celebration during the workday or in the evening. Thank you to all who completed the survey. The vote was close, drum roll please….. the

NTMCA Virtual Holiday Celebration will be at 11:30 am on December 10th!

Here is the LINK to the Holiday Zoom meeting beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Meeting ID: 914 8157 2584
Passcode: 5um4Ps

I hope all of you will be able to attend and enjoy fellowship with your friends and colleagues. We will still be able to enjoy fun and games, door prizes and a virtual silent auction to benefit the Alyce Deering Scholarship fund. Come one, come all; let’s dress up in our festive attire and have some fun!

The auction is online so the bidding can start early. The auction will go live on Friday, Dec 4 and will close during the holiday celebration on Thursday, December 10. Start the bidding now and support the Alyce Deering Scholarship Fund! https://www.32auctions.com/NTMCAHoliday. You will have just a little bit of time to bid on the items the day of the party. The auction will close at 11:50 a.m. on December 10th in order to identify and announce the winners at the celebration.

Although we are not meeting in person, please do not forget to support our designated charity this year. Donations to Michael’s Memories will be accepted online at the link below. The Mission of Michael’s Memories is to provide firefighters with cancer the opportunity to "getaway from cancer" on a vacation with their family. Allowing them to reconnect and escape the stress, trauma, and financial burden that undergoing cancer treatment creates while also involving the community and raising cancer awareness to the public. www.michaelsmemories.org

Note: We will not participate in the wrapped ornament exchange this year

UPCOMING JANUARY MEETING

She has eight years of experience overseeing open records for the City of San Antonio and three years in Webb, County. Moraima monitors and reviews all daily requests (500+) submitted to the City. She provides ongoing training for City Open Records departmental liaisons. In 2016, Moraima conducted an ORR training session for paralegals visiting from several Latin American Countries in their native language of Spanish. Here is your Kindness Korner encouragement for December.

While we are trying to figure out what gifts to give our loved ones and friends this year, let us not forget that kindness is a gift we can to give to everyone, even strangers; and best of all it is a FREE gift and meaningful to each recipient.

May God bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and give you peace.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Sincerely, Traci Henderson, President
