Boy Scouts of America - Piedmont Council
The mission of the Piedmont Council, Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law under our current Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring Programs.
-      The Scout Oath is: “On my honor, I will do my best; to do my duty to God and my country; and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

-      The Scout Law is: “Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.”

The Piedmont Council, B.S.A. provides four major programs to youth and adults in Lincoln County. Our traditional Cub Scouting program is designed for boys, girls, and their families in the K – 5th grade. Our traditional Scouts BSA program is designed for boys, girls, and their families in the 6th – 12th grade. Our non-traditional Venturing (high-adventure) program is for boys, girls, and their families in the 6th – 12th grade and our non-traditional Exploring program (career – based) is for boys, girls, and their families in the 6th – 12th grade.

Our programs continue to thrive due to the consistent support from the United Way of Lincoln County. Without this support, the Piedmont Council, Boy Scouts of America would not be able to prepare every eligible youth to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by our Scout Oath and Law.

FUN IDEAS: Space Chain Fundraiser
For a Campaign that is Out of this World!
Sell Space Themed paper shapes to display at your business so employees and community members can show their support for your United Way Lincoln County Fundraiser!
For a certain amount of time, your organization can sell space themed shapes (or any shape you’d like) to members of the community and employees. Different shapes could have different values (ex: stars are $1, moons are $2, and planets are $5) or all shapes could be priced the same. Supporters can write their name or a short message on the paper and tape them around your organization’s lobby. You’ve likely seen this technique used by nonprofits in your local grocery store.

Duke Energy gives back at Christmastime!

Moms and Munchkins in Lincolnton, NC identified a family in need this holiday season and referred them to Duke Energy. Duke provided funding to allow the family to spend Christmas night at the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC and provided Christmas dinner and gifts for the family. The Owl’s Nest in downtown Lincolnton also provided a small Christmas tree and decorations to be used to get the family’s room at the Great Wolf Lodge Christmas ready!

Moms and Munchkins is a free, nonprofit adolescent parenting program that provides support, assistance, education and encouragement to young moms and their children.

A big thank you to the Executive Director of United Way of Lincoln County and her daughter, Karli for setting up the family's room for Christmas at the Great Wolf Lodge.
