Dear Center for Irish Music supporters and students,

Thanks to remote learning, snow days are a thing of the past, and nothing is stopping our teachers and students from getting together to play, listen and learn tunes.

December is recital month at the Center for Irish Music. Join us over the next two weekends, starting this evening at 7pm, for heartwarming virtual performances by students of all ages. See our recitals page for the performance schedule, and for links to the online events.

As the days shorten and we await the next snowfall, we are looking forward to 2021.

Mark your calendars for February 20th for Éigse CIM, A Virtual Gaela Event, and keep your eyes open for our Spring Term classes starting on February 1st. Spring Term registration will be open next week. Financial aid applications are open.

Keep an eye out for our 2019-20 Annual Report, a collection of uplifting stories about the Center for Irish Music's 16th year of handing down the tradition.

Thank you for supporting CIM's Annual Fund through our fall drive and Give to the Max Day. A special thanks goes out to 2020 Challenge Fund donors, Kieran Folliard (Food Building), Irish On Grand and CIM's Board of Directors.

Have a wonderful holiday season. Stay safe, reach out to loved ones near and far, and keep the music playing.

Norah Rendell
Executive Artistic Director

Poetry has always been central to Irish culture, from the earliest surviving examples—dating from as early as the 6th century—to today. The focus of this series of classes will be Irish language poetry from the 16th century up to now. The group will read and discuss a variety of wonderful examples of our rich tradition in translation, and Dáithí looks forward to students bringing their own particular interests and loves to the conversation.
