For the High Road Foundation, EBP assessed the economic benefits and regional economic impacts of a proposed monorail line along the I-270 corridor in Maryland. Data Sharing Guidance for Public Transit Agencies

For the Transportation Research Board's (TRB's), Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), EBP authored an action-oriented report that includes a how-to guide for transit agencies to use in making data sharing decisions. The findings were developed through a review of relevant academic, professional, and legal literature, a survey, and interviews of individuals in the public and private sectors. The report highlights the major benefits, costs, and risks of data sharing, as well as the legal context. Read More

For the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), Project 08-131, EBP is developing a framework for the integration of accessibility evaluation in rural transportation policy, investment, and planning decisions. The objective of the study is to provide a tool for rural transportation planners and providers to improve accessibility in rural areas, addressing deficiencies. Envision Resilience Nantucket Survey
EBP is designing, implementing, and evaluating a two-part survey of attitudes towards climate change, resilience, and adaptation on Nantucket. The survey effort will allow our client, ReMain Nantucket, and their partners prepare for and evaluate the impacts of the Envision Resilience Nantucket Challenge. The challenge is a design studio in which interdisciplinary teams of graduate students will reimagine Nantucket Harbor under the latest projections of sea level rise. Read More
Highway Safety Behavioral Strategies
For the Behavioral Traffic Safety Cooperative Research Program (BTSCRP), and in partnership with the Western Transportation Institute (WTI), EBP is supporting a national research effort focused on how state departments of transportation and other agencies can encourage safe driving choices in rural areas. The project involves developing behavioral traffic safety tools that planners and policymakers can easily implement. Read More

Dr. Cecilia Viggiano Appointed as a Founding Member of the TRB Standing Committee on Transit Data

This year, the Transportation Research Board (TRB) officially designated AP090 Transit Data as a Standing Committee. Formerly, the topic of transit data was covered by the Joint Subcommittee on Transformative Trends in Transit Data (AP000/ABJ00). This designation reflects the importance of data for public transit agencies. Viggiano was appointed as a founding member of the committee.
