The end of the year is a fitting time to reflect on what has come before.

For instance, a brief new companion piece to the KNN progress report highlights a multitude of achievements from January 2020 through June 2021.

Thank you all for your partnership and perseverance, even in these unique times.
We recognize and appreciate these accomplishmentsand many others since then. This resource shows just a small sampling of ways the KNN is transforming the profession.

KNN Discussion Series: Human Flourishing 2030
Quarterly on Tuesdays at 4 pm CT | Online

The KNN’s next discussion series will explore the impact, challenges and opportunities that different aspects of our ecosystem pose for the future of human flourishing. Four sessions will examine the following external influences that shape and drive the vitality of healthcare learners, professionals and broader society:

During a period of virtual site visits, the KNN team had the opportunity to meet Aya Rossano and additional student leaders across founding member schools who have a passion for transforming medicine.

Aya's goal? Improving gender parity in orthopedics. Learn more about her story and aspirations.

The fourth Developing Medical Educators of the 21st Century course will convene medical educators from undergraduate and graduate medical education to share lessons learned during the pandemic and apply them to reimagining learning environments.

Share With Students: Additional Session Topics
Announced for the KNN Becoming Series
We are pleased to announce upcoming topics in the KNN student series. Please share this flyer with any medical students who may be interested!

Learners are invited to join peers from across the KNN the first Tuesday of each month for community and conversation.

They will explore character strengths helpful on the journey to becoming a physician—such as courage, teamwork, perseverance and more. Ray Williams of the Austin Blanton Museum of Art will use art pieces to lead related reflections.

Students are also eligible for a certificate of completion after attending six sessions.
A Guided Reflection on Caring, Character and Flourishing
Join a guided reflection designed to explore how caring, character and human flourishing intersect in your own life. Along with members across the network, use the power of introspection to gain insight on your experiences with flourishing and ways to promote or sustain it.

IAMSE Call for Grant Proposals:
Educational Scholarship and Curriculum Innovation

IAMSE will fund multiple grants up to $5,000 each through two grant programs:

  • Educational Scholarship Grants fund projects to "systematically collect and analyze data related to medical education."

  • Curriculum Innovation Grants support faculty enrichment activities that exceed regular duties.
AAMC Call for Nominations:
Award for Excellence in Medical Education
AAMC members are invited to nominate individuals or teams of two for the AAMC's highest honor, which recognizes significant contributions to the field.
