Missionary's Musing

I'm writing to you, oh lover of God, 
A historical narrative that might seem odd, 
Because it has spiritual realities, strange but true,
And so on the word of an eye witness or two. 
I'm giving you these facts to ponder, 
So your faith may grow in awe and wonder.
Where we are with the Middle Baptist Association Search?
The committee received resumes until 10/29 and then prayerfully and systematically narrowed the resumes to their top three and contacted the candidates to set up Zoom/In-Person interviews. These took place on November 30th. Each team member had questions prepared for the candidates. One of the top three withdrew, so only two interviews were conducted. After much discussion, one of the candidates has moved forward. An additional interview will be conducted in the coming weeks.  A recent email to all MBA subscribers explains that the Search Team will put forth a candidate for the MBA church’s messengers and pastors to vote on in a called meeting. That meeting will be announced as soon as the search process is completed and a date and time can be determined.

Mission:Dignity® exists to honor retirement-age Southern Baptist pastors, workers, and widows struggling to meet basic needs through advocacy and financial assistance.
Mission:Dignity Grant Eligibility Guidelines
· Applicants must be 65 years of age or older
· Applicants must have 10+ years of paid SBC service
· Applicants must meet the following income limits…...
 For singles: monthly income of $2,148 or less
 For couples: monthly income of $2,904 or less
Applicants must have $45,000 or less in liquid assets
Examples include investments, savings accounts, CDs, etc.
This qualification does not count homes, cars, etc., in the asset amount

►Memorial Baptist Church children & teens are presenting a Christmas Program on Sunday, December 12th at 6pm. All are welcome to come celebrate!

►Rocky Ford Baptist Church’s youth and children will present a Christmas play on December 19th. All invited to come ENJOY!

►First Baptist Springfield will have the adult choir perform “Heaven’s Child” including “Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus” at 10:45am on December 19th. Come and worship!

►The Screven Co. Middle School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have the annual cookie drive. Bakers needed!!! They need 600 individual bags with a Scripture attached or inside the bag. Cookie bags needed before December 15th. Drop off at Screven Middle School on December 13th or 14th. The Mission Center will close during the week of Christmas and New Years...exact days to come.
