Thanks to Art Camacho, City Secretary of Haltom City and NTMCA Secretary, for planning a fun luncheon at El Tejas restaurant. Our scheduled speaker wasn't able to attend, so Mayor An Truong welcomed the group and spoke about his background. He was a Vietnamese fighter pilot and flew alongside American pilots in the Vietnam War. He's been an American citizen for more than 40 years now. He became a Fort Worth Police officer in the 1980s, and an investigator for the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office. After that, Truong earned his Ph.D. and went from Haltom City council member to mayor.
The group enjoyed hearing Mayor Truong's fascinating story. The fajitas and chapter fellowship were great too!
