Native Prairie Restoration/Reclamation Grant:
For years, instead of offering speaker gifts, SK PCAP has been making a donation on the speakers' behalf to a prairie-focused charity, such as the Alicia Hargrave Memorial Scholarship, who helps train the next generation of rangeland experts. This year we decided to combine the awards and the speaker gift donation, so that the award-winning project would receive a cash prize to put towards their restoration or reclamation project.
You can find the Native Prairie Restoration/Reclamation Grant criteria here! The deadline is January 25th!

PCAP Partner Spotlight
College of Agriculture and Bioresources - University of Saskatchewan
Submitted by Eric Lamb, U of S
The College of Agriculture and Bioresources’ mission is to advance the responsible use of land, water and bioresources to provide products and services that ensure food, water and soil security at the local, national and global scales. By focusing on adapting to changing environments, we can promote the resilience the world needs to address environmental and social change in a rapidly growing global population.
Our College trains the next generation of ranchers, grassland ecologists, and rangeland managers through our undergraduate and graduate programs including Applied Plant Ecology, Environmental Science, Renewable Resource Management, and Animal Science. We strive to provide our students with a dynamic and practical university experience that provides the skills they will need in the workplace. Our graduates include a number of PCAP partner representatives who are active in rangeland management and conservation.
The AgBio College is dedicated to protecting renewable resources and the environment to ensure a healthy future. Grasslands and rangeland management have long been a focus for our researchers with notable former faculty including Dr. Robert Coupland (PhD), Dr. Stan Rowe (PhD), and Dr. Jim Romo (PhD). Current researchers include specialists in rangeland management, forages, ecology, and conservation. These experts are cultivating methods for responsible management and conservation of the province’s and world’s grassland ecosystems for future generations.
