CONGRATULATIONS TO
CRAIG BODDINGTON
FOR HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS AN
ELITE HUNTER*
|
|
HUNTER / WRITER / EDUCATOR
All of our Elite Hunters have interesting and inspiring "back-stories," but most of those go untold in these Profiles because they are unrelated to hunting. However, most of Craig Boddington's life (outside of 31 years of service as a Marine Corps infantry officer) has been hunting, shooting, and the outdoors … and not just enjoying the experience, but giving back in many ways. A small part of his story follows:

WRITER EXTRAORDINAIRE
We are not kidding! Craig has written 30 books and over 5,000 magazine articles on hunting, shooting, and wildlife. His outdoor writing career began in college (University of Kansas) and continued while on active duty in the Marines. He joined Petersen Publishing in 1979 and worked his way up to Editor of Petersen's Hunting Magazine in 1983 where he stayed for 11 years (the longest run in their history). He is still with Petersen's successor company, Outdoor Sportsman Group, both as a writer and television personality. His writing career has now exceeded 40 years, but to write over 5,000 published articles, you have to write a quality article every 3 days!!

|
ENTERTAINER & EDUCATOR
Craig is a much sought-after featured speaker and a longstanding and very popular TV personality (along with his wife, Donna). We have added "Educator" to his list of accomplishments because his speaking and writing and television work has always included (even featured) the how and why and the tips to readers/viewers to make them better and more knowledgeable hunters and outdoorsmen and safe and accurate shooters. For entertainment and education, read his books and articles and watch Guns & Ammo TV and Petersen's Hunting Adventures TV.

COLONEL USMC
Craig's service included calls to active duty in 1991, 1994, 1997, 1998, 1999 and he served as Commander, Combine-Joint Task Force Consequent Management, headquartered in Kuwait for 11 months in 2002-2003. He was promoted to Colonel USMC in October 1996, and was selected for promotion to Brigadier General USMC in April 2001, and he retired from the Marines in September 2005 BUT NOT FROM HUNTING AND WRITING.
