ALTADENA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NAMES
2021 CITIZEN AND BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
Altadena, CA – November 21, 2021
A volunteer with a focus on the protection and safety of our community and a farmer’s market showcasing the finest in healthy foods for Altadena were named as Citizen and Business of the Year for 2021 by the Altadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association.
Deb Halberstadt, Altadena’s Community Volunteer Leader for the American Red Cross as well as our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Coordinator (plus much more!) was named Citizen of the Year for her decade plus efforts to keep, among many other activities, Altadena safe and prepared for emergencies.
Business of the Year went to Altadena Farmer’s Market (located at the Altadena Community Garden). Stacey Whitney(Owner/General Manager) has reimagined the way everyone in Altadena has access to fresh & healthy food. An example- at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Altadena Farmer’s Market went “virtual”, facilitating safe, no-contact pickup and delivery of local produce.
The winners will be honored at the Chamber's Annual Awards and Installation Dinner on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Altadena Town & Country Club. Mark your calendar!
