Best wishes from the IDDSI Board of Directors
2021 is almost over and as we move into 2022, the IDDSI Board of Directors would like to extend best wishes to all those around the globe who are helping improve the safety of people living with dysphagia. We are so excited by the ever-increasing number of IDDSI Reference Groups that started in 2021 and all the wonderful volunteers who are helping with translation of IDDSI resources. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to everyone for all the time and energy put into implementing IDDSI around the world. We wish you a most wonderful holiday season and look forward to even more collaboration in 2022!
World Swallowing Day
World Swallowing Day was December 12th. Four of the largest Dysphagia Societies provided a unified message about dysphagia with the goal of increasing awareness around the world about dysphagia. To help raise awareness, consider sharing this video widely with the #WorldSwallowingDay.
IDDSI Resources - Our Gift to You
Just a reminder to everyone to check out all the resources on our website before you develop new ones. Many of the resources are translated into different languages and can be downloaded for use.
If you do utilize the resources, please be sure to cite the CreativeCommons BY-SA 4.0 license here.
The elements of the IDDSI framework should not be altered in any way as this may result in confusion and errors resulting in possible harm to an individual with dysphagia.
We have created some clear guidelines for creating online material or products about IDDSI and for creating educational materials and resources about IDDSI.   Please be sure to review these.
IDDSI Translations
Version 2 of the Vietnamese and Portuguese (Brazil) translations have now been finalized, andare available on our website. We’d like to thank Nhat Ngo, Renata Mancopes, Cristiane Galbeno Rama, Fátima Lago for their work on updating the translations and reviewing all feedback and comments. Through their time and dedication, these volunteers and many other translation volunteers have helped countless people benefit from IDDSI.
