Join speaker Roman Dashawetz to learn about Holodomor, or the Great Famine. In 1932-33, Ukrainian farmers desperately resisted Stalin's forced collectivization efforts, which resulted in a man-made famine that killed 7-10 million Ukrainians.

After covering every corner of New England for 16 years, “Chronicle” reporter Ted Reinstein got tired of saying, “I have enough stories to fill a book,” so he picked the best stories and wrote one. The result is an engaging almanac that offers plenty of intriguing tidbits and little-known facts and reveals the heart of “this historic and quintessentially American place.”

Stop by the Islington Branch's Living Library to admire the plants being propagated and take home some bulbs or seeds for your garden!
The winter months are an excellent time to experiment with new varieties of seeds. Both the Main Library and Islington Branch will have a year-round supply of seeds and ideas to keep you busy once the snowy days arrive. ❄️
The Living Library is supported in part by a grant from the Westwood Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
