The bishop has called on the diocese to offer prayers of remembrance and for strength for the ongoing recovery work as we commemorate the one year anniversary of the devastating tornadoes which affected so much of the diocese overnight on December 10-11, 2021.

We pray especially for those who died and all who loved them, for the injured and traumatized, and for those who lost their homes and livelihoods. We give thanks for first responders, for the steadfast leadership of congregations in the affected areas, and for the ongoing work of so many across western Kentucky who are continuing to provide relief for the profound losses experienced by so many.

We are humbled by and filled with gratitude for the generosity of donors from the diocese and across the Episcopal Church who have provided financial support for the ongoing recovery work. Please also pray and give thanks for the work of Episcopal Relief and Development who have supported us with $124,000 in grants and through their expertise and pastoral support.

Dismantling Racism Training in the Diocese of Kentucky is now offered in three different formats: virtually via zoom as a one day session, virtually requiring two evening zoom sessions, or as a one day, in-person event at various locations throughout the diocese. Important information for each format is listed below. Please carefully read the description of the event and the dates and select the program that best suits your needs and schedule.

 The event will begin at 9:30 and end no later than 4 pm (times listed are in local times: Louisville-EST, Murray- CST). Lunch will be provided as well as snacks throughout the day.

The virtual one day event will begin at 9:30 EST (8:30 CST). We will end no later than 3:30 EST (2:30 CST). We will have breaks throughout the day and a break for lunch.

The evening sessions are scheduled for two evenings, one week apart, from 5-8:30 pm EST (4-7:30 pm CST). Additional time has been provided in the schedule for a thirty minute dinner break.

The deadline to register for a training event will be one week before the session.

To foster optimum learning and conversation, the participant limit for each training day is 24. Please sign up early to be sure to get the time you want.

The Sacred Ground series is part of the Becoming Beloved Community initiative of The Episcopal Church, a long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. I'm writing to ask for your support of All Saints Center in Leitchfield, KY. It's been a transitional time at All Saints with the closing of the Center in 2020 due to the pandemic and only a partial opening in 2021. Our Director, Bill Beam, and his team did an amazing job of minimizing expenses during that period and maintaining the beauty of that sacred space.

Thankfully, 2022 has seen the full re-opening of the Center and the return of our youth to the summer camp as well as adult groups coming on retreat. Our board is excited about the future of the camp and understands the important place it holds for both youth and adults throughout our diocese and beyond. Much has been done to improve the camp experience, including adding a boathouse to the riverfront and constructing a labyrinth in a peaceful spot just behind the inn. Also, a disk golf course has been laid out on the grounds, which winds its way through the upper and lower camps and through the woods in between. We’re working now to spruce up the lower camp with building repairs and new paint.
