BACKGROUND

Jose Madrazo, better known as Pepe in the hunting world, was born in Salamanca, Spain and practiced as an attorney for 40 years before retiring. He started hunting at the age of 10 and has still not retired.

THE MOUNTAINS

Early on, Pepe hunted the mountains of Spain for Ibex and Chamois, the species for which Spain is famous. Then, in 1981, he started hunting internationally, where his passion for the mountains continued to the extent that he has now collected 110 mountain animals including 42 different Sheep species (Ovis) and 40 different species of Ibex/Goats (Capra) for the rare “40 – 40” recognized by Grand Slam Club / Ovis (GSCO).

THE RARITIES

Among the rarest mountain species that Pepe has hunted are some that are neither Ovis nor Capra: the Serow, the Goral, and two species of Takin.

The preceding was a result of 450 big game hunts to 63 countries, including more than 190 provinces and states.
