AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Tom Reif
Tom Reif, The Alera Group, is this month's featured Ambassador. Tom has been a Lisle Area Chamber member for thirteen years and is on the Chamber's Board of Directors. In addition to being on the Chamber Board, Tom is actively involved in the Ambassador Committee as well as the Ale Fest, Dinner Dance, Golf, LINCT, Scholarship, and Wine Committees.
Tom is a Senior Benefits Broker with The Alera Group. He sells benefits to companies such as Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability. Tom has been in this field for thirty-two years. Tom lives in Naperville and has 24-year old triplets, 2 boys and a girl. He likes to work out, golf, and go hunting and fishing. Tom enjoys being an Ambassador because he gets to meet new people. It has helped his business becasue he is able to work with some of the businesses in the Chamber. Tom's favorite quote to share is from William Johnson, "It is to be its up to me."

The Chamber's Annual Turkey Trot Tune-Up 5K took place on Sunday, November 20, 2022 through the beautiful Lisle Community Park. Runners made their way through the winding pathways of the Lisle Community Park course. Thank you to Dan Garvy of the Lisle Park District for event set up and leading the runners on his bike. We also thank the Chamber Board Chairman, Jon Pratscher of the Lisle Park District, for helping with the event.
This event would not be the success it is without the Lisle Park District, Lisle Teens with Character Lisle Lions Club, Lisle Police Department, Lisle/Woodridge Fire District, our sponsors, volunteers, members and runners.

Accolades for the Arboretum!
Recently, The Morton Arboretum was recognized for its longstanding presence in the community and as a high-ranking place of employment. Founded in 1922, the Arboretum has been celebrating its 100th year throughout 2022. The DuPage County Historical Society selected the Arboretum to receive a Centennial Award upon the anniversary milestone, presenting it on October 22. Also in light of the centennial, the DuPage County Board issued a Proclamation of Congratulations to the Arboretum on November 1 during a tree-planting ceremony, citing the institution as a valued member of the community and for improving quality of life for residents through tree-focused efforts. On November 3, the Arboretum was named a Chicago Tribune Top Workplace for 2022, for the second consecutive year, based on results of an employee survey. The Arboretum welcomes 1.2 million visitors annually, serves 61,000 member households, and employs 450 people with support from 900 volunteers. With a mission to plant and protect trees, the Arboretum maintains tree collections as an outdoor museum, offers education programs, and conducts scientific research -- all with a purpose to create a greener, healthier, and more beautiful world. Beyond its local presence, The Morton Arboretum extends initiatives regionally, nationally, and internationally.
