Fabulous Fleece Accessories with Pattie Otto

Skill Level: Beginner
A trio of must have accessories to keep you and your love ones warm this winter. Start with a quick-cut self-fringe scarf. Next we will construct a beanie style hat. The class will finish with a set of mittens. All construction will be done on your sewing machine. Class will teach layout and cutting of hi-loft fabrics as well as how to sew and hem outerwear fleece. We will be using Great Copy #2685 Icelandic Hat and Mitten pattern which is sized children through adult. The kit includes hi-tech Polartec® fleece which provides superior warmth and ribbing for the cuff.

Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Create a stunning zipped front vest or jacket with curved pockets using the Denali Vest and Jacket pattern from Great Copy Patterns. During class you will have access to try-ons to aid in selecting the correct size, as well as fitting and construction advice. Basic techniques will also include applying fold over elastic, inserting a front zipper and stitching an easy baseball style ribbed collar.

Folded Fabric Medallion--Store Favorite!

Make a stunning fabric medallion with Cheryl! These gorgeous medallions can be used in quilt blocks, as table toppers, as an embellishment on garments—anything you can think of! Students will learn all about design and layout, setting up a grid foundation, and sewing through multiple layers. Cheryl will also discuss options for finishing the medallion center.

Long Island Knit Pants with Pattie Otto -- Back by popular demand!

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
A slim leg knit pant that goes from dressy to relaxed depending on fabric chosen. Pocket options include slash pockets, cargo pockets, or both. Pattie will have try-ons of all sizes to aid in obtaining a great fit. After pattern adjustments, layout and cutting, Pattie will help with construction including pockets, hemming and elastic waistband techniques.

The Sonoma Tee is a simple pullover and perfect for beginners who want to expand their sewing knowledge while creating their own garment. We will cover basic fabric and pattern knowledge, how to measure and select the correct size, interfacing, seam finish basics, and hemming. Although this is a beginner course, students must have a working knowledge of their sewing machine.

Class Policy
Buy your class supplies with us!
Supplies purchased for our classes and clubs receive a 20% discount.
Payment for classes must be received at the time of registration. If you cancel 7 or more days before class you will be issued a store credit. There will be no refunds or credit for cancellations less than 7 days before class. If we have to cancel a class, we will reschedule the class when possible or refund the fee.
For inclement weather, we follow the Howard County School System schedule.
