2022 has been a momentous year at HK. Thank you to our team, community, referral partners, and clients for making this year a success.

Santa arrived at HK early this season! Our annual Secret Santa game was in full effect all month. It’s a tradition at HK to draw names and act as a “Secret Santa” to our selected colleagues. The firm hands us cash to shop for a carefully selected gift for our person. Gifts must be thought out and personalized to the person’s preferences, so the pressure is on to deliver an awesome surprise to our “Secret Santa Person.”

On Friday, December 16th, our secrets were revealed at the annual employee holiday luncheon at Boulder Ridge Golf Course. Each Secret Santa took a turn to describe and appreciate their selected colleague and then revealed who they had by giving them their gift.

We enjoyed the holiday cheer and getting our team together to celebrate the season with one another. The partners offered speeches of heartfelt appreciation and reflected on the team’s efforts and achievements in 2022.

On December 9th, HK sponsored the Santa Clara County Bar Association’s Family Law Section’s Annual Family Law Luncheon. This is always an exciting event as the Santa Clara County judiciary and family law attorneys have a chance to visit and share holiday cheer.

On December 14th, Andrea J. Justo, Senior Associate and President of the Santa Clara Trial Lawyers Association, emceed the SCCTLA's Annual Holiday Party. A few of us were able to attend and celebrate this year’s notable verdicts. We extend a special round of applause for the trial lawyers who were recognized this year.

Please join us in welcoming Malinda Wood, Legal Administrative Assistant! Malinda originally joined HK back in 2015 when we had less than 10 attorneys. She has graciously returned, and we are thrilled to have her back! Malinda has over 14 years of family law experience and is well versed with the HK work culture. Her enthusiasm, charisma and legal acumen are appreciated by all of us, and she helps make every day a great day at HK. Welcome back, Malinda!

Travis I. Krepelka, Partner and Certified Family Law Specialist, was featured on The Divorce Hour with Ilyssa Panitz on CRN Digital Talk Radio. Travis shared his legal perspective on handling fiduciary assets when facing a divorce in California.

This month, Hoover Krepelka, LLP had the opportunity to coordinate with Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence on a very exciting project. Over the pandemic, Nordstrom accumulated thousands of cosmetic samples and gifts with purchase kits that were otherwise going to waste. Nordstrom contacted Next Door Solutions to donate these items, and that’s where we came in.

Jerline Justo, Marketing Coordinator, helped NDS’s Development Director, Beth Williams transport over 100 boxes of donations from Nordstrom’s cosmetics department. We then organized the samples and made a production line to create 420 “Pamper Me” gift bags, which were given out to NDS’s survivors at their annual

Since 1971, Next Door Solutions has been providing support and services to survivors of domestic violence in Silicon Valley. We appreciated this opportunity to be of service and are excited to know that hundreds of deserving individuals and their families will be receiving extraordinary gifts this year.
