Alma's first job in the U.S.

Alma

Alma joined our Level 3 ESL class this year. She was dedicated in her studies and had perfect attendance! After participating in mock interviews with her instructor, she interviewed for a receptionist position at JC Penny and was hired the same day. Soon after starting, she was offered more hours.

Congratulations, Alma, on your first job in the US!

Eight billboard installed around Madison!

Literacy Network is the latest partner of Adams Collaborate, a program that creates year-long professional outdoor advertising campaigns for free for chosen nonprofits.

The billboard campaign includes eight different billboards that will be rotated around the Madison area over the coming year. See a map of current billboard locations and preview all eight billboard designs on our website, and watch the time-lapse video of the first billboard's installation below.

Thank you, Adams Outdoor Advertising, for this opportunity for increased visibility to reach more potential students, supporters, and volunteers!

Thanks to 90+ donors for supporting students on GivingTuesday

November 28 was GivingTuesday, and we celebrated all day long by sharing 19 student photos and videos highlighting what students are ready to do with their improved literacy skills. Check out a full gallery of photos and videos on our GivingTuesday page!

Thank you to everyone (including an anonymous donor who gave a $5,000 matching gift!) who supported students working toward their dreams. Your donations of over $18,000 are nearly enough to fund two classes for a year!

There's still time to help more students in this time of

record-high demand for programs.

Please give!

Volunteer Kathy shares, "It doesn't take a special skillset to be a tutor. What you need is interest in other people and time."
