The International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) is holding its 22nd conference in the thriving city of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah state, on the beautiful island of Borneo. The theme of the conference is “Human Happiness and Wellbeing in an Uncertain World”, which reflects both the changes that have occurred in our world post-pandemic, but also the unique capacity for post traumatic growth and quality of life improvement.

In the lead up to the 2024 Conference, The International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) and Frontiers in Psychology: Positive Psychology are collaborating on this important Research Topic to highlight Wellbeing in Asia.
The Positive Psychology section of Frontiers in Psychology focuses on a 'life worth living'. Specifically, it focuses on understanding the individual, group, organizational and societal conditions that lead to improved quality of life, wellbeing, and optimal functioning.

OECD Guidelines on Measuring Subjective Well-being
Being able to measure people’s quality of life is fundamental when assessing the progress of societies. There is now widespread acknowledgement that measuring subjective well-being is an essential part of measuring quality of life alongside other social and economic dimensions. As a first step to improving the measures of quality of life, the OECD has produced Guidelines which provide advice on the collection and use of measures of subjective well-being.
