President's Message
I am both humbled and excited to lead the ASVCP into 2024. With our updated mission, vision, and values and our newly refreshed strategic goals, we have an exciting year ahead. As demonstrated at our annual meeting, our membership is working hard to promote our mission of improving animal and human health by advancing quality standards, research, and education in veterinary clinical pathology. I look forward to seeing all that our membership continues to do and to provide resources through the Society to execute its mission.
Our Society’s most important asset is its people. I enjoyed visiting with many of you in Chicago and will look forward to working with you in the coming years. We have much to do as we carry out our vision of promoting excellence in veterinary clinical pathology through our diverse and supportive community of members. There is a place for everyone. Feel free to reach out if you would like help in finding a niche in which to serve.
I am proud to serve an organization that values science, education, quality, veterinary medicine, diversity/equity/inclusion, community, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. It is fulfilling to uphold these values in which I believe, and I take that responsibility seriously. As society members, let me know if you see us falling short of our goals. I value your input and am in service to you through the Society.
I personally value gratitude and am thankful for each of you for entrusting me to lead the ASVCP. And I am thankful to those before me for paving the way. I am thankful for my mentors, colleagues, friends, residents, and family, all of whom have taught me valuable lessons that have shaped me and the way that I lead. I encourage each of you to take a minute today to thank a person who has impacted you in a positive way to let them know the impact of their actions. I also encourage you to think of how you can pay it forward, perhaps through service to the ASVCP.
My thoughts are with you all during the busy and exciting time surrounding year end. Let me know how I can be of assistance now and into the new year.
