Exciting Year End Funding Received

We are thrilled to share that Global Seed Savers has been awarded two exciting grants in the past month that will jumpstart our planned growth and impact as we head into 2024!

$40,000 grant from the Conservation, Food and Health Foundation. This is the largest grant in our history and we are thrilled to have the continued support of this values aligned and longtime funder. This support will ensure we can grow our Participatory Seed Governance Program and continued to build more Seed Savers Communities in 2024.

$25,000 grant from the Seeding the Future Foundation Global Food Systems Challenge. Supporting our program entitled Empowering Communities for Sustainable, Equitable, Ecological, and Diverse Food Systems through Seed Sovereignty (ECOSEEDS). We are honored to be one of 8 winners for this Seed Grant level amongst over 900 total challenge applicants.

Global Seed Savers’ Thriving

New Partnership With Naturland

Global Seed Savers recently had a meeting with Marco Schluter, Head of Strategy and International Affairs, and Federica of Naturland at Philippine Nazarene College, Pico Road, La Trinidad, which marked a pivotal moment.

Naturland’s commitment to partnering with GSS as a new NGO in the Philippines came to light. Their pledge in technical assistance in seed-saving mechanisms, seed sovereignty forums and conferences, staff development, and program activities echoes our shared vision of seed sovereignty and sustainable agriculture.

Global Seed Savers is excited for this new partnership with Naturland and the exciting new chapter to unfold!

Our Fellows embarked on a captivating journey delving deep into the heart of Global Seed Savers' operations in Cebu.

They spent a week in Cebu to engage with our various partners as they continue to create the story board of their upcoming documentary which will highlight our work and the impacts of seed sovereignty movements across the Philippines!
