A Festive Farewell to 2023
As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I am filled with gratitude and joy for the incredible journey we've shared as a community. It's been an honor to serve as your Chamber Chairperson for 2023, and I am excited to share some highlights and important upcoming events with you.
Reflections on a Great Year:
I want to express my sincere thanks to each and every one of you for contributing to the success and vibrancy of our community. Together, we've hit milestones, fostered collaboration, and strengthened the bonds that make Lisle a truly special place. Whether through networking events, business workshops, or community initiatives, your dedication has been the driving force behind our accomplishments.
I am looking forward to the Chamber's Annual Meeting & Holiday Luncheon at North American Pizza & Culinary Academy, on December 6th, 2023. This gathering will not only be an opportunity to discuss year-end achievements but also to share in the spirit of the season. We'll delve into plans for the coming year, celebrate our collective accomplishments, and exchange warm wishes for the holiday season.
Christmas and New Year Celebrations:
As the holiday season nears, I urge you to pause and consider the achievements of the past year while enjoying the festive spirit. May your homes be filled with the warmth of family, the joy of friends, and the generosity of the season. Wishing you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and a joyful Hanukkah, filled with prosperity, good health, and new opportunities.
Thank you once again for allowing me the privilege of serving as your Chairperson. It has been a rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the friendships and partnerships forged throughout the year. I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of the Lisle Area Chamber.
As we bid farewell to 2023, let's carry the spirit of collaboration and community into the new year. I wish you all a joyous holiday season and a prosperous 2024.

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Kimberly Novovesky

This month's featured Ambassador is Kimberly Novovesky. She is the Assistant Vice President Branch Manager at BankFinancial in Westmont. Kimberly has been the Treasurer on the Chamber's Board of Directors since 2020. In addition to being on the Board of Directors, she is on the Ambassador and Lisle Uncorked Wine Event Committees. She enjoys being an Ambassador because it is a great way to meet new members, welcome and introduce them and their business to the great benefits and advantages they have as a Lisle Area Chamber Member.
Kim is responsible for the overall operations and performance of the Westmont BankFinancial branch, and ensures that the branch meets its financial goals, provides excellent customer service, and adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements. She leads and motivates a team of 5 branch employees to achieve sales targets, provide quality customer service and maintain a positive work environment. She addresses customer concerns and ensures they are satisfied with the bank’s products and services, handle complaints, and resolve their disputes. Kim works to develop strong relationships with customers, fostering trust and loyalty. This involves understanding their needs and tailoring solutions to their specific circumstances and providing them with ongoing support and guidance. Kim has been in the banking field for 33 years.
As a member, the Lisle Area Chamber has offered many opportunities for Kim to network with other businesses in the community and build relationships with potential customers. The Chamber helps promote their business through various marketing channels including their website, newsletter and social media pages giving a chance to showcase her business. The chamber offers a way to get involved and make a positive impact in the community.
Kim lives in Romeoville and she has one daughter and a new granddaughter born in 2023. She also has a Black Lab and a 1-year-old puppy. Kim enjoys exploring new places and spending time with her family. Kim's bit of wisdom she would like to impart is the more you participate and engage with the Chamber, the more you will benefit from the membership. By actively seeing out ways to connect, learn, and grow, you can reap the rewards of your Chamber membership and contribute to the success of your business and the overall community.

The Chamber's Annual Turkey Trot Tune-Up 5K took place on Sunday, November 12, 2023 through the beautiful Lisle Community Park. Runners and walkers made their way through the winding pathways of the Lisle Community Park course. Thank you to Dan Garvy of the Lisle Park District for event set up and leading the runners on his bike. We also thank the Chamber Board member, Jon Pratscher of the Lisle Park District, for helping with the event.
This event would not be the success it is without the Lisle Park District, Lisle Teens with Character Lisle Lions Club, Lisle Police Department, Lisle/Woodridge Fire District, West Suburban Community Pantry, our sponsors, volunteers, members, runners and walkers.

December is the time for family and friend celebrations. All year long we celebrate, but there is such an ambiance to December. The special holiday traditions, memories and foods we prepare show how we are all connected. A special holiday tradition that continues again in Lisle is the Lights of Lisle. View the event flyer in this newsletter or please visit www.villageoflisle.org and www.lisleparkdistict.org websites for all the details to this fun holiday tradition.
If you know me, I am a glass half full kind of girl. The Real Estate section of the economy is getting a little better at least with the housing market mortgage rates as I write this in November. “The interest rate rises should be over, and the Fed will have to consider cutting interest rates seriously. In the meantime, the bond market is reacting as if the Fed will be cutting interest rates next year. Mortgage rates look to head towards 7% in a few months and into the 6% range by the spring of 2024,” said Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors. Inventory has been low so I am hoping this news will help families obtain their dream of buying a home or a business securing commercial real estate. The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce has realtor members listed in our newsletter and on our website. If you know anyone buying or selling they would love to help you with the process.
There are many different charities and non-profits that need help this holiday season. For instance, the Lisle/Woodridge Fire District is hosting a coat drive. Please see the flyer in this newsletter for donation information.
