The Be Well at Work - Wellness team would like to thank you with deep gratitude and appreciation for your ongoing support of our programs. We strive to offer programs, initiatives and events that will motivate and inspire you to lead a healthier lifestyle and will help to sustain your well-being while at work and when you return home.
It was a wonderful year and we would like to highlight a few achievements, beginning with UC Moves. In partnership with People & Culture and Staff Appreciation Week, UC Moves made an exciting come back with nearly 400 participants enjoying swag, games, popsicles, prizes and more. This was a significant increase in participation since June 2019. Our Cook Well Berkeley and Active at Work workshops provided over 200 participants with cooking tips, new recipes and easy to follow exercises to help improve their physical well-being. Next, the Creativity and Your Well-Being series continued to grow in popularity, offering succulent planting and canvas painting as a way to lower your blood pressure, decrease stress, and support your immune system. This workshop had an average of 30 participants for each session.
In the Spring semester, we invite you to visit our workshops and programs webpage to learn more about upcoming programs and events and register for other Be Well at Work Faculty/Staff Health workshops and newsletters at uhs.berkeley.edu/bewellatwork.

Finally, UC Berkeley is proud to have met the 2023 American Heart Association criteria for Gold recognition in the Association’s Workforce Well-being Scorecard. See www.heart.org/workforce for more information. In partnership with People & Culture, Environmental Health and Safety, Wellness Ambassadors, Ergonomic Navigators and numerous other campus partners - Be Well at Work Faculty/Staff Health programs will remain dedicated to creating and sustaining a culture of health and well-being.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!

Chocolate Salami
Named for its resemblance to salami rather than any similar ingredients, this unique but easy-to-make fudgy treat offers a lot of bang for your buck! Once you have the ingredients, you can easily make several, especially because it can be made ahead (will keep in the fridge for a week or two). Haas Tree Planting Initiative
Sun, Dec 3 | 10am-2pm | Keller Canyon Landfill
Join Haas on December 3rd to plant trees as part of their mission to take responsibility for their paper printing. Their goal for this event is to plant trees where landfill, recycling and compost is hauled. Communities that deal with these materials tend to be under-resourced and have higher rates of health issues due to poor water and air quality. Help plant trees to pull pollutants from the air and rebuild the soil. Read more about the Haas Tree Planting Initiative here.
