Welcome to our newsletter. Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Jellison House
The Jellison House in Kennebunk is nearing completion by Wright-Ryan Homes. This mostly unchanged (but updated) historic home facing the main street, with wonderful additions towards the rear that include a new primary bedroom, screen porch and pergola off the kitchen. The existing barn was removed and rebuilt as a garage, mud room and great room, also oriented towards the view.
Twisted Christmas
Studio Theatre of Bath's tenth annual Twisted Christmas is Friday Dec 15 and Saturday Dec 16 at the Bath Golf Course / Long Reach Kitchen. Every year brings different skits, music, and adult hilarity to the holiday season. David I will be reprising our "Signals" skit from a few years ago to celebrate the 10th anniversary. This will sell out, tickets can be purchased here.
Bath YMCA
Scheduled for completion by the end of the year, the Bath YMCA is excited to open the "Treehouse," a two-classroom building to provide desperately needed daycare for the Bath community for up to 32 children. Additional space in the Basement provides needed storage and workshop capability for the YMCA facility department. Construction by Frohmiller Construction.
Rose Stone
Rose Stone has seen a tremendous facelift, and is nearing completion in Falmouth by Frohmiller Construction. Originally built as a private home, this building became a series of offices before it sat vacant for some time. A new owner purchased the building to bring their office headquarters to Falmouth. A new envelope, mechanical system, and triple-glazed windows will assure comfort for the new headquarters.
Views from the Job site
Windows and doors are scheduled for imminent delivery for this spectacular new home in Falmouth Foreside. Four blocks, great room, primary bedroom suite, guest suite, and garage are connected by a spine. With different level mono-slope roofs and a low-slope spine, the drama is in the massing and setting of this house. Construction by Downeast Design/Build.
On the Drawing Board
This is one of three concepts the client is currently reviewing for a new house in West Bath. Our concepts include different house designs, as well as alternate access due to the steep slope of the topography. Depending on access dictates our design response. We are looking forward to continuing our design process with our new clients.
