We love any kind of party at Silver Threads & Golden Needles, and it is time for a Holiday party!

Here is what we love about parties at STGN:

1. We get to see our wonderful customers, who are more like family to us, and spend extended time visiting together.
2. We get to listen to music and maybe even play a game or two.
3. We get to eat lots of delicious snacks.
4. We get to do something with fiber and other crafts.

What could be better than that?

This year, our Christmas present to you is a "Make & Take" party. On December 9th, from 10:30am to 12:30ish, we are going to have two hours of festivities. We'll have four different holiday crafts for you to make and take home. You will be able to finish each craft while you are at the shop.

Here's what you need to bring: YOURSELF! That's it! You do not have to bring or purchase any materials and there is no cost for any instruction. Just come and enjoy being with friends, have some food, and enjoy the fun.

DECEMBER Classes

We know December is a busy time for finishing up those Christmas projects, so check out our December Class List to see some quick holiday gifts you could make. Examples for some gift ideas would be the Snow Matter What MKAL, the Spiced Cocoa fingerless mitts, any of the National Parks Hats, and the Bobbiny Bowl class.

ALL THINGS "GNOME" - Join the December Gnome Knit-along

• Friday, December 1st
• Time: 2:00 - 4:00pm
• Join Nals, Venn and Amy for “All Things GNOME” as we start the new mystery Gnome KAL, “Snow Matter What”. If a Mystery KAL is not your thing, then pick any other of Sara Schira’s (Imagined Landscapes) to find a cute gnome pattern to knit.
• Materials Needed: Four colors of fingering weight yarn (we have lots of minis – perfect for these projects!), Size US 1, 1.5 or 2 needles, DPN”s or Magic Loop and your sense of humor. It is going to be a lot fun.

 “Knitting the National Parks” Hat CLASS – SAGUARO HAT (this is the final hat of the National Parks series)

• Materials needed: One Saguaro Hat kit, US 5 and 7 circular knitting needles, 16-inch cable

• Join Barb Carroll as she takes you deeper into Knit Companion using this amazing tool for knitters and crocheters.
• Materials: laptop or tablet - You will need to download the Knit Companion app prior to class. You will also need to purchase the paid version for this class.

Need help with a project? Dropped a stitch or having problems with a complicated lace project? We can help with that. Here is our store policy on helping customers:

• If you have a knitted or crocheted problem that will only take 15 minutes or less, please call first to make sure one our staff members can help. It is not always possible for us to help on a drop-in basis.
• If your knitting or crochet problem will take more than 15 minutes, please call us at 828-349-0515 to make an appointment with one of us.

Appointments/lessons can be booked for $25.00 an hour. 

We will be shutting down our online store for the next several months in order to make needed improvements and enhancements to serve you better in the future. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We will be glad to take any orders over the phone (828-349-0515) and ship the product to you.
