No Dream Deferred: An Evening of Culturally Diverse Poetry, Monologue, Soliloquy, and Song

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 from 5:30pm-6:30pm


An ensemble cast of Sturgis Library patrons will perform pieces that honor the beauty and pain of the human condition.


Come together in community with others for this performance that will warm your heart, fill your spirit, provoke thought, and leave you wanting more!


Director Sara-Ann P. Semedo has a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College and is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA. She has performed at the Lambs Theatre in New York City, Wheelock Family Theatre, Lyric Stage Company of Boston, North Shore Music Theatre, Boston Playwrights Theatre, and Wellesley Repertory Theatre, Cape Cod Theatre Company and has completed several national tours. Gold Leaf Stone Painting Workshop

Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 from 5:00pm-6:00pm


Design and make a gold leaf stone! Perfect as a gift for a loved one or a keepsake for yourself!


All materials are provided but participants can bring their own stones if they'd like.


This is a multigenerational program for adults and young artists ages 10 and up.

Barnstable Council on Aging: Communication Tools

Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 at 10:00am


This program aims to offer insights into typical aging, age-related memory lapses, and severe memory issues. As individuals grow older, gradual alterations in memory are a natural part of the aging journey. Nevertheless, there are instances when these alterations manifest earlier than predicted or progress more rapidly than usual.

Kanopy is a wonderful streaming service for quality, thoughtful entertainment. Find movies, shows, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films, and educational videos that inspire, enrich, and entertain.


Patrons will also have access to Kanopy Kids which offers a well-curated, educational collection of movies and shows for children.

Ghost Hunting Kit Available for Checkout

Conducting a paranormal investigation can be a fun, rewarding, and enriching experience for believers young and old!


Sturgis Library's Ghost Hunting Kit features a great mix of high-quality investigative research items for EMF, temperature, and ghost box communication.


This kit includes the following items:
