We wanted to start this newsletter with a huge thank you to all of you who supported us on Giving Tuesday. We are so grateful to have donors like you who care about our mission and are committed to making a difference to those we serve. We even surpassed our fundraising goal!
Your generosity has gone a long way already, especially in helping us slowly re-open our PAD program. We could not have done this without you.

This time of year brings a gentle reminder that the Pos-Abilities Membership Fee is due. Staying connected as a member allows you to continue receiving our newsletters, program updates, and participate in our AGM. We deeply value your support and hope you'll continue to be a part of our community as we move into 2025.
We have some exciting news: our Personal Assistive Device (P.A.D) program is slowly re-opening! Our priority is to support those in the community who need any mobility aids or accessibility supports. However, because of the lack of volunteers and funding, our program will not be reopening to the same level of functioning. You may fill out a form requesting equipment here, but we still do not have drivers for pick up and delivery (if this is something you can do, please read below).
We appreciate your patience as we try and get this program up and running.

Are you, or is someone you know, interested in making a real difference?
Do you, or do they, drive a truck or have access to a truck?
What about the skills of communication and a strong work ethic?
If the answer is yes to any of the above questions, you might be a perfect fit for this job. The key components of the volunteer position includes picking up and dropping off used mobility aids (wheelchairs, scooters, bathroom devices, etc).

If you are ready to make a difference, please fill out our Volunteer Application Form below. If you know someone who would be perfect for this role, please share this news with them. Your community needs you now more than ever! |
*mileage will be reimbursed
*flexible hours available on weekdays or weekends, depending on the applicant's schedule

What is the PAD Program?
The PAD Program provides free, refurbished mobility and assistive devices, like walkers and power chairs, to individuals with disabilities, enhancing their independence and quality of life.
| |
We have a wonderful organization, Repair Cafe, who is willing to work with us to help fix wheelchairs and other items needed in our PAD program. We are hopeful for this future endeavour. We will have updates in the new year about how this is coming along and how our PAD program may improve in 2025.

TOAD Program
We have developed several programs which promote understanding of and increase empathy towards persons with disabilities.
Ideal as team-building exercises, employee or management retreats, school educational experiences, seminars, in-services, or lunch and learn events, these activities are fun, interactive and eye-opening.

The purpose is to enable access to public buildings for anyone who might have challenges, such as seniors, mothers with strollers, and people with disabilities. Disabilities include mobility issues, hearing loss, blindness, and many other conditions requiring assistive devices.

We are currently trying to get more reach on our accessibility map app, to make it something that can be well-known throughout the country as an easy-to-use app that can streamline the process of finding out what locations are accessible before attending.
We want to encourage you to share our app with friends and family no matter how far and wide they may be, and let's see how much we can increase our accessibility reports!
