This is MassHire Lowell’s Veterans' Program newsletter for December 2024. We wanted to let you know about employment resources, events, and job listings. 

On Tuesday, December 17^th, we have a recruitment for the Markley Group who are looking to hire 50 maintenance technicians. 

To start the new year, we will be hosting veteran-focused career workshops on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Lowell Career Center. The workshops were developed through the Department of Labor’s “Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT)” program. Veterans have found them informative, professionally delivered and well worth attending.

Greater Lowell Jobs

Veterans receive Priority of Service (POS) at all MassHire career centers and New Hampshire Works offices. This means a preference for applying for jobs, training programs, and services at all career centers.

Every city and most towns in Massachusetts have Veterans’ Service Officers (VSOs). They can help you and your family access benefits such as Chapter 115 financial assistance, healthcare, housing, and education. Chapter 115 is for Massachusetts veterans who are facing financial difficulties.  

Benefits Safety Net Program

Your VSO is a municipal employee usually located in your city or town hall. They can also help you apply for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA benefits), including service-connected disability claims, job readiness, home loans, and burial benefits.
