Greetings!
As we welcome the festive month of December here in beautiful Ponte Vedra Beach, I find myself reflecting on the delightful start to our club year. From excellent speakers and crafty outings to touring MOCA and the Guana by kayak – there has truly been something for everyone. And the best part? We’re just getting started!
This holiday season is all about connection, celebration, and joy—three things our members do best! I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at our annual Holiday Luncheon, a cherished tradition that always brings sparkle and warmth to the season. Don’t forget our always-popular Cookie Exchange—bring your favorite recipe and a sweet tooth! And of course, our January Nights of Lights cruise in St. Augustine promises to be a magical evening, soaking in the beauty of the season from the water.
December is such a special time to slow down, savor good company, and celebrate the friendships that make our club so unique. Thank you all for sharing your laughter, stories, and enthusiasm throughout the year—you make this community truly shine.

The SWC Famous Holiday Cookie Exchange is Back!!!
Whip up 3 dozen of your favorite cookie recipe and bring to share with your fellow bakers! Bring home a variety of tasty treats! We have cookie tins for you, but you are welcome to recycle your tins from pervious years and bring your own tin. Prizes and light snacks provided. BYOB. Please consider carpooling or using golf carts to alleviate parking issues in the neighborhood. Limited to 30 participants.

Join us for the Holiday Lunch Around at Ashes Boutique and Tea Room. Festivities begin at noon on Friday, December 12th.
Your “Afternoon Tea” experience begins as you enter the Victorian-style tearoom. You will be offered both hot and iced tea throughout your lunch. Your tastebuds will first be tempted with a cream cheese spread for your crackers. Included with your meal will be an assortment of four petite tea sandwiches made of chicken salad, cucumber, egg salad, and pimento cheese all served on a Traditional Tea Tray. An assortment of fruit will garnish your tray.
While you may be full, be sure to leave room for finely crafted, homemade desserts including scones, tarts, and coconut cake. All will be a feast for your eyes and your sweet tooth for sure.
For some added holiday fun, consider bringing a wrapped Christmas tree ornament valued at $10 and take part in the ornament exchange. “Bring one, take one.” Limited to 23 participants.

Let’s keep the holiday spirit shining into the new year! Join us for a Holly Jolly Boat Ride to see the sparkling St. Augustine holiday lights. It’s sure to be a magical evening of laughter, lights, and good company — so grab your Santa hat and hop aboard! 🎅🌟
We will launch promptly at 6:30 p.m. and return to the dock at 8:00 p.m.
Wear your favorite festive outfit but also dress to keep warm on the water. Bring drinks and snacks to enjoy on the boat.

Book Club

In December, instead of a book discussion, the Book Club will gather for an annual holiday party, hosted this year by Diane Price. Come for a festive afternoon enjoying appetizers, beverages and socializing with your fellow readers. Members with last names ending in A-J should bring white or sparking wine or clear sodas, and those with last names ending in K-Z should bring appetizers. Consider carpooling or using golf carts to alleviate parking issues in the neighborhood. Come eat, read, and be merry!
