President's Message

In just three days, we’ll gather for the Summit View Condominium Association Annual Meeting—and I truly hope to see you there. This meeting is one of the most important events of the year. We’ll elect board members, share updates on the work happening throughout our community, and respond to your questions. Your participation helps ensure that every homeowner has a voice.

If you cannot attend, please take a moment to complete a proxy form (click here to download). You may assign your proxy to someone who will be at the meeting, or send it to Tracey Vlasis (tracey@waldenannarbor.com) in the management office by 5:00 p.m. on meeting day, Thursday, December 4, 2025. You can choose whether the proxy holder votes on your behalf or simply uses it toward the quorum needed to hold the meeting.

Proxies are essential for us to move forward with the business of the Association, so if there’s any chance you won’t make it, please submit one in advance—it will be destroyed upon your arrival should you end up attending.

We’ll begin with light refreshments and sign-in at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. Thank you for helping ensure our community stays informed, engaged, and moving forward together.

Community Building Litigation Update

As we shared with you in our last newsletter, the recent arbitration process brought some important clarity and direction for our community. The arbitrator confirmed that the original agreement remains valid. As a result, the Governing Committee will continue to operate independently, and both parties must follow the existing terms.

We are now working with Walden Hills committee members to agree on procedures for future meetings, as required by the arbitrator. Our aim is to ensure clear communication and smooth collaboration going forward. We’ll keep you updated on any progress.

Managing Well-being During the Holidays

The holidays can be joyful, but they also bring added demands on our energy and wallets. The latest Headspace article highlights how financial stress can spill into our physical and mental well-being - so a little intention goes a long way.

Quick tips for a healthier season:

  • Set a simple budget and stick to what feels comfortable.
  • Choose meaningful over costly gifts or activities.
  • Protect your downtime with rest, movement, and fresh air.
  • Say no when needed to keep stress in check.
  • Take small calm breaks—a walk, deep breath, or quiet moment helps reset.

Wishing everyone at Summit View a warm, healthy, and peaceful holiday season!

Laundry Room Neighborliness

Living in a condo means sharing spaces with people of all ages and lifestyles, and our laundry rooms are no exception.

A few small courtesies can help keep things running smoothly for everyone:

  • Set a timer and promptly remove items from machines and tables.
  • Limit the time your "donated" items remain in the room.
  • Don't try to dry muddy shoes in the dryer.
  • Reserve laundry use for residents ages 18 and older.

This limited list of examples may sound specific because it is! And before reporting concerns to management, a friendly conversation with your neighbor often goes a long way.

Holiday Party in the Community Building

Join your Summit View neighbors on December 18 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. in the Community Building for our annual holiday party! Enjoy a festive evening filled with great company, holiday cheer, and plenty of laughs.

We’ll have live holiday piano music by Will Bennett (including our spirited tradition of The Twelve Days of Christmas!), along with games, delicious desserts, and side dishes contributed by all of you. Our management company is providing wine and beer, and your board members are bringing ham and turkey for everyone to enjoy.

And new this year: wear your favorite holiday sweater: ugly, sparkly, or somewhere in between! Join us for a fun, friendly night of Summit View festivities. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Who Will Be in the Next Spotlight?

We need YOU (or your adorable pet!) for our Summit View Spotlight! Have a great story to share? A hobby, talent, or fun fact your neighbors would enjoy? Or maybe your pet is the true celebrity of the household and deserves their moment in the spotlight?

Whether you’re outgoing or a little shy, the spotlight feature is a warm, easy way to help our community get to know one another, and we’d love to include you.

Email tracey@waldenannarbor.com to toss your hat...or your pet’s paws...into the ring! We can’t wait to feature you.
