New Sessions of Games Starting in January

New sessions of Games are slated to begin in the next few weeks. Different classes for different skill levels allow you to learn and improve while connecting with fellow SAS students to continue the fun after class is over.

Learn the timeless game of bridge, improve your play, and then enjoy recreational games with a touch of organized learning and helpful tips at SAS.


Robert Rebelein joins the faculty this season to introduce novices to Beginner Bridge (Course 13828) starting Monday, January 26, 2025 and Bridge: Supervised Play for Novice Players (Course 13827) starting Friday, January 23, 2026.


New instructor Melissa Baker will teach Advanced Beginner Bridge (Course 13825) starting Tuesday, January 13, 2026. and Bridge: Supervised Play for Experienced Players (Course 13826) starting Friday, January 16, 2026.


Rich Laufer returns this winter to lead several sections of Bridge: Supervised Play on Monday mornings (Course 13824) or Wednesday evenings (Course 13823), both beginning the week of January 11, 2026.

Jamie Meadow and Sheryl Itkin return in the new year for multiple sections of canasta. Beginner Canasta meets Monday mornings (Course 13716), Tuesday evenings (Course 13718), or Thursday mornings (Course 13717).


Those with some experience can meet others at Canasta: Supervised Play, Tips, and Strategy on Monday mornings (Course 13723), Tuesday evenings (Course 13724), or Thursday afternoons (Course 13722).


All new canasta sessions begin the week of January 11, 2026.

Sara Farnsworth and Anne Wiesel will lead more mah jongg classes in the new year. For those seeking to learn this exceedingly popular game, Let's Play Mah Jongg: Beginner Series meets on Monday mornings (Course 13686), Wednesday mornings (Course 13684), Wednesday evenings (Course 13762), or Friday mornings (Course 13688).


Let's Play Mah Jongg: Supervised Play sessions are on Monday afternoons (Course 13691), Tuesday mornings (Course 13764), or Wednesday afternoons (Course 13690).


The next set of mah jongg classes all start the week of January 11, 2026.
