CancerCare's Stories of Help and Hope

Breast cancer changed everything for Sabrina, but she met this test of strength and resilience with courage and faith. Today she stands as an educator, advocate and educator for cancer, remaining thankful for the support she received and the ways in which she changed personally and how she views the world. She is proud to share her story.

A Year of CancerCare

As 2025 comes to a close, we look back on a year of continuity and change.

After 25 years in the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City, we moved our main offices back to Midtown Manhattan, where we are excited for our next chapter of providing help and hope for anyone affected by cancer.

Meanwhile, we continued providing help and hope to many, including support groups, counseling, our 16th annual Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp, updated publications, timely workshops and much more.

As we enter the new year, we are as ready to deliver help and hope as ever before.

My Cancer Circle

A free, private and customizable online tool for people affected by cancer, My Cancer Circle enables caregivers to organize and coordinate family and friends to provide practical and emotional support.

MyCancerCircle.net gives a simple, effective answer to a question that is constantly asked, What can we do to help, and how?

Turn Your Generosity Into Impact!

There are many ways to give and some even offer extra benefits. For example, gifts of appreciated stock held for more than one year can help you save on taxes while increasing your giving power. No matter how you give, every contribution strengthens CancerCare’s mission to support people affected by cancer.

Discover different ways to give and make your impact today. For more information, please contact Brooke Griffin, Assistant Director of Individual Giving at bgriffin@cancercare.org.

Walk for Hope Raises Over $80,000!

In November, over 150 people gathered together at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury, NY, for a family-friendly 5K walk to honor their loved ones and raise funds to support CancerCare.

The yearly support this event provides the CancerCare community in Long Island is vital for our free support services. We thank everyone involved!

Coping With Cancer During the Holidays

The holidays can be extremely challenging for people dealing with cancer, whether as patients, caregivers or the bereaved.

They may feel out-of-step with the festive spirit around them, or find it difficult to manage the many scheduled appointments and timely treatments they require. They may find it hard to ask for help when they need it most.

CancerCare recognizes how difficult this time may be for those impacted by cancer and provides its support.
