Twelfth Step Prayer

Dear God,

My spiritual awakening continues to unfold.

The help I have received I shall pass on and give to others,

Both in and out of the Fellowship.

For this opportunity I am grateful.

I pray most humbly to continue walking day by day

On the road of spiritual progress.

I pray for the inner strength and wisdom

To practice the principles of this way of life in all I do and say.

I need You, my friends, and the program every hour of every day.

This is a better way to live.

SERVICE SPOTLIGHT

The Spirit of Rotation

By: Anonymous

As we close out another year of recovery, service, and fellowship, December gives us a natural moment to pause and look honestly at where we’ve been—and where we’re going.

In AA, the Spirit of Rotation is one of the things that keeps our groups healthy and our hearts open.

Rotation reminds us that none of us own these positions. We step in, we serve, we grow, and when the time is right, we step aside so someone else has the chance to grow too. It keeps us teachable. It keeps the group strong. And it gives newcomers—and those who are new to service or new to our area—room to say yes.

Another part of rotation is the spirit with which we leave. When we finish a commitment, we don’t carry resentments into the next meeting or give newcomers a bitter taste before they’ve even had a chance to experience the joy of service. We practice unity, we practice grace, and we remember that how we talk about service shapes how others feel about participating in it.

Our principles remind us to leave the position better than we found it—not by holding on, and not by tearing it down on the way out, but by trusting that the next person will be given the same opportunities we were.

As we move toward 2026, may we all practice:

✨ Letting go with dignity

✨ Speaking with kindness about the work we’ve done

✨ Creating a welcoming space for those willing to step in

✨ Remembering that enthusiasm is contagious—so is negativity

✨ Encouraging growth instead of blocking it

Rotation keeps AA fresh, vibrant, and alive.

And the way we participate—coming in and going out—determines whether the next person feels inspired… or discouraged.

Here’s to a New Year filled with willingness, humility, and service done in the spirit of love and unity.

Steps, Traditions & Concepts of AA

Step 12: "Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs."

Tradition 12: "Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities."

Concept 12: "The Conference shall observe the spirit of A.A. tradition, taking care that it never becomes the seat of perilous wealth or power; that sufficient operating funds and reserve be its prudent financial principle; that it place none of its members in a position of unqualified authority over others; that it reach all important decisions by discussion, vote, and whenever possible, substantial unanimity; that its actions never be personally punitive nor an incitement to public controversy; that it never perform acts of government; that, like the Society it serves, it will always remain democratic in thought and action."

Message From The Editor

Hey friends,

December invites us to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and look at the year with softer eyes. We made it through another twelve months of recovery, growth, service, and fellowship — sometimes gracefully, sometimes clumsily, but always together.

AA is built on spiritual principles, yes — but it’s also built on laughter, humility, and Rule 62. Service helps us grow, but it’s also for fun and for free. When we can smile through it, the work gets lighter, the load gets shared, and the season feels a little brighter.

If you’ve got announcements, stories, or fun ideas, send them my way:

Grateful to be of service,

Barbara 💜🦋
