Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Steps Up for

Early Childhood Literacy

On November 18, Froedtert Holy Family Memorial employees assembled 150 "My Body, My Movement" Storytime To-Go Kits as part of their annual United Way fundraising campaign.

The kits include the board book From Head to Toe by Eric Carle along with items for activities to go along with the book. These activities focus on the Talk, Sing, Read, Write, and Play literacy practices, promoting body awareness, motor skills, and vocabulary development.

Terry Ehle, Youth Services Coordinator at Lester Public Library, shared the benefits of these storytime to-go kits:

  • How the contents of the storytime to-go kits build young brains

  • How parents and caregivers mutually benefit from the kits because they are the children's first teachers

  • How similar kits given away at Lester Public Library are a big hit with the families they serve

Sarah Yancey of our Women United group also shared information about our Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.

A portion of these kits will be given to our key community partners who serve youth. The remaining kits will be given away by our Women United members at their community pop-up readings.

Thank you, Froedtert in Action team!
