President's Message

It is time to prepare for the future.

Well, at least time to choose which classes to take this coming semester.

Our curriculum is not decided in some gnarly faculty meeting with requirements, majors and minors, and such pedantic stuff.

It is a compendium of expertise and experience that your peers have volunteered to share with you.

The diversity of our over 60 courses next semester is extraordinary. They are gathered into 10 broad categories and range from Jazz Fundamentals to Weekly Discussions on the State of the Union, to Van and RV Life for Retirees.

There are answers to the question, “When is the last time you did something for the first time?” How about Mindfulness with Reiki? Or understand Whitey Bulger - Declassified. Or maybe you want to revisit an old interest, like Chess or Bridge or Motown Music?

Or perhaps join in informed discussion on topics from The Economist or The State of the Union? Or perhaps you would like to learn about The Human Genome or improve your Understanding of the Middle East.

As you peruse the new catalogue available on our website in early December and at local libraries and senior centers around Christmas in print form, note the many Zoom and hybrid options.

You can ALL from home. In addition, many members share information on Zoom classes with friends and family who live off-Cape. Our classes are available literally anywhere that has access to the internet.

Our topics are broad. Our reach is long. Happy perusing and choosing.

Gina Hurley's New Spring 2026 Course

"Van and RV Life For Retirees"

Takes Class Members On The Road

Gina Hurley was an adjunct faculty member teaching psychology at Cape Cod Community College for 25 years.

She holds degrees from the SUNY at Geneseo, UMass at Boston, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

This new Spring 2026 course "Van and RV Life for Retirees" is for those who are retired or nearing retirement, who are interested in RV or van travel.

Gina Hurley, the Coordinator of this course, seeks to share her experience and help others plan to travel in a van or RV throughout North America.

Since retiring nearly five years ago, she has enjoyed traveling North America in her converted van, finding great hiking and skiing destinations.

The course will be mostly lecture and discussions, with the use of photos from travel around North America. Various apps and websites will be used to supplement the lectures.

A strong emphasis will be placed on the specific interest of the participants to make the course informative and useful for them.

The Zoom course, ALL1483-Z is scheduled for the First Six Weeks Session on Tuesdays 3:00 - 4:20 p.m. with a start date of January 27, 2026.
